When did THAT happen?

So I'm at the pool with my daughter....this little guy swims up and starts talking to me.  He's cute and polite and then he swims on by.

Not too long after a man walks up and says -- "He will talk to anyone!"  Smiles.   And I'm like oh he's cute...no worries.  I told him "I appreciate it -- so many kids won't talk to each other -- let alone an adult."  I also mentioned that "Back when I was a kid, we met friends every where we went."

To which the man said "Well when we were kids things were a lot different."

I was....taken aback.  I mean -- I am A LOT younger than this dude.  But after I evaluated the situation, I realized -- I probably wasn't younger.  Hello maybe he was younger than me.  This big ole hairy man was my age.  Middle-aged.

Wow.  When did THAT happen????
